ROBERT G. WESSNER

Easter Lily

Robert G. Wessner, 76, Burlington, died April 8, 2014, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington.

He was born in Vernon on March 14, 1938, to the late Lawrence C. and Loraine E. (Richter) Wessner. He spent his early life in Vernon and was a 1956 graduate of Mukwonago High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959.

On April 9, 1999, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington, he married Marjorie Wehner. He had been a Burlington resident since 1973.

Over the years he worked at Husco in Waukesha as a tool and die maker, then later as a gunsmith with Viking Guns and Kolar Arms. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, biking and spending time in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Survivors include his wife, brothers-in-law, William (Mary Alyce) Wehner, Tony (Milly) Wehner, Jerome (Kathy) Wehner; sister-in-law, Jean Wehner; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Chuck Wehner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church are suggested.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 12, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Volkert presiding. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington, served the family.
