RITA A. SCHWEITZER

Rita Ann Schweitzer (Acker) Schweitzer, 91, Waterford, died Feb. 18, 2014.

She was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Kneeland, Wis., to the late George and Mary (Stark) Acker.

She married Milton Schweitzer May 1, 1943. He preceded her in death April 18, 1978.

She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1941. She was a salesperson for 21 years at their family owned Waterford Beer Depot. She spent her latter years as an exceptional homemaker enjoying gardening, reading and baking where she had many secret recipes. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons, Gerald (Connie) Schweitzer, Curt (Pat) Schweitzer, Steve (Kim) Schweitzer; daughters, Mary (Lenis) Anderson, Julie Schweitzer, all Waterford; daughter-in-law, Barb Schweitzer, Lodi; sisters-in-law, Ardyes and Verna Acker; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her son, Doug Schweitzer; Joseph and Alice Stanosz; Tony and Ange Jansen; Fran and Ray Boelter; Marge and Jack Zoeller; Daniel and Ivan Acker; Dorthy and Allen Delikat; Ralph and Marge Schweitzer; Vernon and Lois Schweitzer; Ray and Judy Schweitzer; and Lloyd Schweitzer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Feb 27, at 6 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford, with the Rev. Gene Doda officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 4-6 p.m. Immediately following Mass there will be a celebration to honor ‘Rita’s Wonderful Life’ at the Cotton Exchange, Plantation Room, 345 Hickory Hollow Drive, Waterford.

A private family burial service per Rita’s wishes is Friday Feb 28, at St. Thomas Cemetery, Waterford.

A very heartfelt thank you goes out to Doreen, Diane, Ann, Faye, Sherry, Verna, Nancy, Pete and MaryAnn Lukas, and Joe Huelskamp for the special love they showed mom.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ali and the entire nursing staff at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington for their outstanding service and care to Rita.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Thomas Church. Integrity Funeral Services, Waterford, is serving the family.
