PATRICIA M. FINLEY

Easter Lily      Patricia M. Finley, 85, Burlington, died Dec. 22, 2014, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn.

She was born in Lake Geneva on June 29, 1929, to the late Earl and Mary (Huck) Massey. She spent her early life in Lake Geneva and Lyons and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1947. She further attended Union Grove Normal, Cardinal Stritch and UW–Whitewater where she received a BS degree in teaching.

On Feb. 4, 1967, at St. Charles Catholic Church, she married Robert E. Finley. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2002.

She worked as a teacher at Potters School, Honey Creek, Williams Bay and St. Charles, retiring after 40 years of teaching. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. In her earlier life she was active in The Haylofters and Burlington Professional Woman’s Association. She was part of many bridge clubs, volunteered at the rectory and helped out with the various festivals held at church.

Survivors include her daughters, Margaret (Jeffrey) Bailey, Walworth, Elizabeth (Gerald) Lindberg, Pell Lake; grandchildren, Erin and Matthew Bailey; sisters, Claire Port of Calif., Ellen Pieters, Burlington; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by siblings, Mary Jane (Jim) Tully, Earl ‘Joe’ (Lois) Massey, Margaret ‘Susan’ (James) Ehlen, Jimmie Bill (Lorretta) Massey; brothers-in-law, Donald Port and Albert Pieters.

The family is suggesting memorials to St. Charles School.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 29, at 6 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. James Volkert presiding. Visitation is Dec. 29, from 3-5:45 p.m. Inurnment will be private in St. Charles Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
