NICHOLAS J. FETTES JR.

Easter Lily      Nicholas J. Fettes Jr., 83, Town of Dover, died Nov. 29, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints, Racine.

He was born March 22, 1931, to Nick and Marie (Henningfield) Fettes in Kansasville. His early life was spent in Racine and Kansasville.

On May 12, 1951, he married Rose Katterhagen at St. Mary’s Church in Dover. Following marriage they resided in the Union Grove and Kansasville area where they raised their family. He was previously employed at Pure Milk Association and also Deans Foods. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Kansasville Fire Department. In his earlier years he coached Little League and St. Mary’s Dover basketball teams.

Survivors include his wife; children, Michael (Lynn) Fettes, Diane (Nick) Baumeister, Richard (Patricia) Fettes, Margaret (Robert) Schmid, Robert (Shannan) Fettes; 13 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Helen Reesman, Mary Anne Hoffmann, Judy (Tom) Adam, Sally Larson, Sue (Robert) Reuss, David (Rita) Fettes, Donald (Tammy) Fettes; sister-in-law, Carol Fettes; brother-in-law, Bill Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his father and most recently by his 100-year-old mother; siblings, Robert Fettes, Marlene Jacob and Jerry Fettes; brothers-in-law, Bill Larson, Don Reesman and Bill Hoffmann.

Memorials for Nick may be made to St. Mary’s Dover Catholic Church.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints for their care and compassion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dover, with the Rev. Robert Kacalo officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Dec. 2, from 4-6:30 p.m., at church. Burial is Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dover. Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Union Grove, is serving the family.
