NATHAN C. LAVIN

Easter Lily      Nathan Corey Lavin, 34, Kansasville, died unexpectedly Oct. 31, 2014.

He was born in Milwaukee on Oct. 24, 1980, to Greg and Dawn (Frauenfelder) Lavin. He spent his early life in Kansasville, on the family homestead, where he was the 6th generation. He graduated from St. Mary’s Grade School and attended Catholic Central High School. He further advanced his education at UW–Milwaukee.

He lived in Montana, Chicago, San Francisco and North Hollywood. He had a passion for music and filmmaking. He was a member of Motion Picture Studio Mechanics Local 476, and also worked extensively with Teamsters Local 714 and Stagehands Local No. 2. Among the films he worked on included Joshua, Batman The Dark Knight, The Break Up and The Amityville Horror. He was a producer and sound designer for the independent film, “Little Sister.” He was a turntablist, known as DJ Soultwist. His career included opening for Nelly, and he DJed with Souls of Mischief and other national and international groups.

He loved animals and as a teenager worked at Green Meadows Petting Zoo, in Waterford. He enjoyed being outdoors where he mountain biked, hiked, and camped.

Survivors include his parents, Greg Lavin and Dawn Frauenfelder; brother, Matthew Lavin; grandmother, Joy (William Morgan, MD) Frauenfelder; aunts and uncles, Daniel Frauenfelder Jr., Jodi Kaslow, Fred (Debbie Spears) Frauenfelder, Froan Sheridan, Tabetha and Scott Coughlin, Genie (Dan) Bosch, Helen (Mario) Lena, Bernard (Harriet) Lavin, Mary (Mark) Flynn, Maureen Lavin, MD, Wayne Hulsey; godmother, Jill O’Connell; nieces; nephews; other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene Lavin and Helen Bennett-Lavin, Daniel Frauenfelder Sr., and godfather, Art Zimmerman.

The family would like to thank all those who sent their condolences on Facebook, giving the family strength and showing their love for Nathan and his family.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Grade School and the Humane Society.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church – Dover, 23211 Church Road, Kansasville, with the Rev. Robert Kacalo presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Friday, Nov. 7, from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10-10:30 a.m. Burial will follow Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dover. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
