NAOMI M. TOTTEN

Naomi M. Totten, 97, Burlington, died April 2, 2014 at Kindred Health & Rehab Center. She was born in Delmar, Iowa, on July 15, 1916, to the late George M. and Eva (Lakaff) Wray. Spent her early life in Delmar where she attended school.

On Dec. 24, 1936, in Milwaukee, she married Clyde Mitchell Totten. Following marriage they made their home in Milwaukee before moving to Big Bend in 1948, where they raised their family. He preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 2000.

She worked with the school lunch program at Big Bend School and in the cafeteria at New Berlin Hospital. Her true love in life was being a homemaker; loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived life to the fullest and loved every minute she lived and had a positive attitude about all situations in life.

She attended 1st Church of the Nazarene in West Allis and Wesleyan Methodist Church in Waukesha. She enjoyed traveling, was a Lionette, a member of a snowmobile club, and enjoyed golf.

Survivors include her daughters, Gloria (David) Stowell and Debra (Michael) Gauthier; grandchildren, Phillip Totten, Steven (Refina) Totten, Kristine Kimbriel, Lisa (Dwight) Perry, Terry (Brian) Erb, Todd Stowell; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Hazel Johnston; sisters-in-law, Joanne Totten and Marie Blevins; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her son, Ronald (Judith) Totten; grandson, Daniel Totten; four sisters and two brothers.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Health Care and Allay Hospice for all their love, support and help during this time.

Private services will be held for Naomi at a later date. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
