MARIE A. BELL

Marie A. Bell, 92, Burlington, died peacefully Jan. 30, 2014, at Village Glen in Lake Geneva. She was born March 4, 1921, in Ringwood, Ill., to the late Joseph and Lillian (Biggers) Jung. She was educated in Spring Grove, Ill., where she spent her early life.

On June 21, 1939, she married George A. Bell at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Spring Grove. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2000.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Burlington, the Funeral Committee and Holy Dusters, was a member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Sewing Group, volunteered at Mt. Carmel Medical & Rehab Center, also helped Cross Lutheran ladies quilt for the missions. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and other crafts. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her sons, Don (Dee) Bell, Ozone, Ariz., Harvey (Paulette) Bell, Hacienda Heights, Calif.; daughters, Debbie (Russ) Weis, Burlington, Lori (Tom) Degen, Plover; grandchildren, DJ Bell, Brian (Lisa) Weis, Curt (Traci) Weis, AJ (fianceé Shawn Margles) Weis, Scott (fianceé Kim DesRosier) Degen, Melissa and Stephanie Degen; great-grandchildren, Katie and Jack Weis, Keagan, Peyton and Brynlie Weis; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by two sisters; brothers-in-law; two brothers; and sisters-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Family and friends may visit with the family Friday at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, from 4-5:30 p.m. Burial will be private in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials to Aurora Visiting Nurse Association Hospice or St. Mary’s Church are suggested.
