MARDELLE A. BAUMEISTER

Easter Lily      Mardelle A. Baumeister, 84, Pleasant Prairie, died Nov. 2, 2014, at St. Catherine’s Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born Nov. 29, 1929, the middle child of three girls, in Rochester, to the late John and Elsie ‘Mum’ (Miller) Lehman. She attended schools in Rochester and graduated from the Rochester Ag School and in her younger years she worked for Mars Cheese Castle, T & L Café and the Doughnut Hole.

She married Gerhard Baumeister in Waterford. After Gerhard’s retirement the couple enjoyed working together at Great America every summer. They also enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and to Tennessee to visit friends. She liked doing word search puzzles, bingo and crocheting afghans and scarves for her family and friends. She was a longtime member of Alanon. She loved her cats, especially her favorite ‘Spike’ but her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.

She was further preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Joan Baumeister and Beatrice McClellan; and her great-grandson, Shawn Baumeister.

Survivors include her children, Paul (Roberta) Baumeister Sr., Kenosha, Deborah (and her late companion, Stan) Baker, Kenosha, Barbara Baumeister, Bristol, Sandra Jordan, Kenosha, Thomas Baumeister, Pleasant Prairie, and Jane (Richard) Rosmann, Kenosha; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, her youngest being born on Oct. 31; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.

Funeral services noon on Thursday, Nov. 6, at Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home, 6019 7th Ave., Kenosha, with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m., until the time of service.

The family would like to offer their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Grande Prairie Nursing and Rehab. Especially to the activities department in which Mardelle enjoyed everything they had to offer. She met many new friends during her stay.
