LUCILLE BORUCKI

Easter Lily      Lucille Borucki, 96, Burlington, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on July 5, 2014.

She was born at home in New Munster on Feb. 25, 1918, to the late Martin and Catherine (Lois) Robers. She spent her early life in New Munster where she attended school.

On Oct. 26, 1940, at St. Alphonsus Church, she married Andrew A. Borucki. Following marriage they made their home in Chicago, Delavan, New Munster, Lake Geneva and Rochester before returning to the Burlington area in 1953. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1980.

She was a homemaker, a general leader of the Pleasant View 4-H Club, a member of the Rochester Fireman’s Auxiliary and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, raising chickens which led to selling and delivering eggs on a weekly basis where she was affectionately known as the ‘egg lady.’ She collected antiques and family history.

Survivors include her children, Andrew (Earlita) Borucki Jr., MaryAnn Oldenburg, Sharyn (Dennis) Jeffers, Bob (Peg) Borucki, Dennis (Becky) Borucki, Beverly Borucki and David (Karyn) Borucki; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Martin (Audrey) Robers, Edward Robers; sister-in-law, Patricia Robers.

She was further preceded in death by her siblings, Martha (Edward) Hegeman, Esther (Roman) Hegeman, Charles (Phyllis) Robers, Arthur Robers; sister-in-law, Arlene Robers; son-in-law, David Oldenburg.

The family would like to thank Rev. Jim Volkert of St. Mary’s Church and Michelle and Kathi of Allay Hospice for their care during this time.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 10, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Yamid Blanco officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, July 9, from 4-7 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington.
