LOIS H. KEGLEY

Easter Lily      Lois H. Kegley, 80, Lake Geneva, formerly of Honey Creek, died Nov. 25, 2014.

She was born Dec. 20, 1933, to the late Arthur and Vera (Utech) Wilcott in Merrill. Her early life was spent in East Troy where she graduated from East Troy High School.

On Oct. 6, 1951, at St. James Methodist Church in East Troy, she married Lyle H. Kegley. Following marriage they made their home in Beulah Station before moving to Honey Creek where they raised their family. She moved to Lake Geneva 10 years ago. Lyle preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2011.

She was a member of the Honey Creek Community Baptist Church, the Civic Club and the Homemakers Club. She served as the past president of the Resident Council at Geneva Lake Manor. In her earlier years, she was a leader for both the Girls and Boys Scouts. In her spare time she enjoyed reading romance books, crocheting, sewing, gardening and especially being in the kitchen. Family and friends benefitted and enjoyed her excellent cooking skills. She loved being involved with all the activities at the nursing home, her favorite being bingo.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth Kegley, Jeffrey (Pat) Kegley, Lori (Russ) Mehring, Brian Kegley; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way; her siblings, Gail (Roy) Stuesser, Harriet (Eddie) Arnold, Su Drew, Wayne (Jean) Wilcott and Noreen (Allen) Knepel; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her great-grandson, Joshua Lawer and her brother, Joel.

In remembrance of Lois, memorials may be made to Geneva Lake Manor.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the past and present staff of Geneva Lake Manor for all their care and compassion. Also, a special thank you to the Pell Lake Trinity Church for all their visits and spiritual support.

Funeral Services were Dec. 1, at Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home, Burlington, with the Rev. Jane Mathison officiating. Burial will follow services in the Honey Creek Cemetery.
