LILLIAN A. WILK

Easter Lily      Lillian Anne Wilk, 80, Waterford, died June 30, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Aug. 15, 1933, to the late John and Mollie (Trice) Neumiller in Racine. Her early life was spent in Sturtevant. She attended the Teacher’s College in Union Grove and also graduated from UW–Whitewater.

On Sept. 16, 1954, she married the late August J. Wilk. Following marriage they resided in Union Grove. She was a teacher for 42 years and taught at the Raymond School for over 30 years. She was very active in the community. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, the Lioness Club, past president for Post Office Women’s Auxiliary, CYO volunteer, Catechism director and a member of the Red Hat Society. Her hobbies included gardening, crafting, sewing, painting, playing bingo and reading. But more than anything she treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They meant the world to her.

Survivors include her children, Joseph (Coleen) Wilk, Fredericksburg, Kathy (Kraig) Tabor, East Troy, Theresa (Michael) Molitor, Union Grove, Anne (Joseph) Mealy, Waterford; grandchildren, Joseph (Teresa) Wilk Jr., Christopher Wilk, Tito Monsonto, Joseph (Tomectria) Monsonto, Kerion (Brian) Carter, Thomas (Christine) Tabor, Melinda (Joshua) Landers, Timothy Tabor, Aleysa (Jesse) Jacobson, Annastasia (Joe Fellmoth) Tabor, Katy Tabor, Jason (Laura) Molitor, Karen Christensen, David (Kristen) Molitor, Kimberly Molitor, Amber Roberts, Joseph Mealy Jr., Austin Mealy; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Nancy (Richard) Andis, John (Jonnie) Neumiller Jr.; sister-in-law, Thelma Schulfer; brother-in-law, Bill (Marian) Grandziewlski; her faithful canine companion Brutus; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Patricia; granddaughters, Jamie Lynn Molitor and Loralie McNair; nephew, Jeff Grandziewlski; and brother-in-law, Eugene Schulfer.

Lillian’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all her caregivers; Shannon, Katie, Kathy, Carol, Laura, Gloria and Michelle for all their loving care and compassion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Robert’s Bellarmine Catholic Church with the Rev Robert Kacalo officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Monday, July 7, from 4-8 p.m., at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home, 908 11th Ave., Union Grove. Burial will follow Tuesday’s service at St. Mary’s Cemetery Dover.

    My prayers are with the family of Lillian Wilk as August Wilk was my cousin. I didn’t realize her family was so large. She is at peace with the Lord.
