Joanne M. Anderson, 76, Twin Lakes, died Dec. 28, 2014, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington.
She was born in Chippewa Falls on May 14, 1938, to the late Joseph and Irene (Nicolai) Fliehr. She spent her early years in Chippewa Falls where she graduated from high school.
On May 8, 1965, she married Jerome David Anderson at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Chippewa Falls. They resided in Chippewa Falls until 1974, Marinette until 1978 when they moved to Burlington and had resided in Twin Lakes since 1996.
She was a homemaker and cookie baker who volunteered as the director for the Western Racine Co. ARC. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who loved baking. Many memories were made in the kitchen as she shared her recipes and techniques.
She enjoyed tending to her flowers and always found time to attend her grandchildren’s recitals, plays, concerts and various school functions. She especially enjoyed playing cards with her family, particularly the game Grandma Wins.
Survivors include her husband; children, James (Michelle) Anderson, Catherine Anderson, Mark (Dawn) Anderson, Kristine Anderson; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Chloe and Aidan; sisters, Dolores Meinen, Irene ‘Sis’ Hamilton; brother, Thomas Fliehr; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and nephews.
She was further preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Edward Meinen, Leo ‘Dick’ Hamilton; sister-in-law, Jeanne Fliehr.
Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 4, from 3-6 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington.
