James R. ‘Jim’ Foat, 79, Waterford, died Jan. 2, 2014. He was born in Waterford on July 1, 1934, to the late Irving and Marie (Hegemann) Foat. He spent his entire life in Waterford where he ran Foat’s Bait Shop on the Fox River.
He loved to feed the ducks and to some he was known as the unofficial and uncontested ‘Mayor of Waterford.’
Survivors include a sister, Grace (Bill Renfro) McMahon, Oklahoma; nephews, Gary (Kim) Foat, Greg (Kathy) Foat, Grant Foat, Guy Foat; great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Mealy Funeral Home, Inc., Waterford, is serving the family.

May your soul rest in peace dear Jimmy. we went to St Thomas together and whenever I was back in Waterford I would stop to see him at the shop. He was a dear person and will be missed.
