Harold J. Hansen, 86, Waterford, died peacefully at home on Feb. 6, 2014. He was born in Milwaukee on March 19, 1927, to the late Emil and Laura (Annen) Hansen. He spent his early life on the farm in West Allis. He graduated Pius High School in 1945 and then joined the U.S. Army, serving his country during World War II.

On May 3, 1958, he married Lillian E. Remmers. The couple resided in the Tichigan Lake area. She preceded him in death.

He was retired from Allis Chalmers in West Allis where he was a data processing supervisor. He was a charter member of St. Clare Catholic Church, a member of the Tichigan VFW Post 10441, and the Green Valley Sportsman’s Club. He was an avid Packer fan and loved to listen to polka music. He especially enjoyed spending much of his time watching his grandkids play ball. He was fondly known as Baseball Grandpa.

Survivors include daughters, Gayam (Tom) Winski, Tichigan, and Trisha (Jon) Anderson, Wisconsin Rapids;  grandchildren, Angela (Bob Albee) Winski, Nicholas Winski, Jona (Vince) Mancuso, Andrea (Vince) Conley, Jordan Winski and Adam Winski; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Trentn, Tucker, Ryder and Giovanni;  siblings, John Hansen, Richard (Peggy) Hansen and Laura Parfitt; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m., at St. Clare Catholic Church, 7616 Fritz St., Wind Lake. Visitation is in church on Saturday from 9-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials be made to the VFW Post 10441 in Tichigan. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.
