George E. Schmidter, Jr., 83, East Troy, died peacefully on Nov. 1, 2014. He was born in East Troy on July 2, 1931, to the late George and Alma (Sheard) Schmidter Sr.
He married Judith Jankowsky on Oct. 29, 1966, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Waterford. He was a farmer most of his life and also worked as a custodian for the East Troy area schools. He was a lifelong resident of East Troy and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his brothers-in-law, John Jankowsky and Ralph Jankowsky Jr., Burlington, and other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his dear wife, Judy; son, George Schmidter III; sisters, Orian and Della.
Services are Friday, Nov. 7, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, East Troy, with the Rev. Tim Kujath officiating. Visitation is prior to services in church on Friday from 10-11:45 a.m. Burial is in German Settlement Cemetery following services. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.
In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
