DAVID W. RAEBEL

David W. Raebel, 64, Rochester, died peacefully March 18, 2014, at Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was born in Milwaukee on June 12, 1949, to the late William and Esther (Schmidt) Raebel and was a graduate of West Allis High School. After high school he entered the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam.

He married Kathryn L. Feiza in Virgil, Ill., in 1972, and they had been residents of Waterford and Rochester for the past several years.

He was a computer programmer analyst working on contract programs. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Waterford and DAV – Disabled American Veterans. He loved spending time with his dogs and horses.

Survivors include his wife: children, Andy (Stacy) Raebel, Beth Raebel, Dan (Katie) Raebel; grandchildren, Layla and Nora; sisters and brothers, Jann (Terry) Stumbo, Rachel (Al) Andreshak, Daniel (Diane) Raebel, Martin (Doreen) Raebel; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne (Hector) Feiza, Tom (Gayle) Feiza, Nancy (Stan) Elson, Dave (Linda) Feiza, Beth (Paul) Busching, Rosemarie (Dave) Lenz; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his sister, Sharon.

Visitation is Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with services at 1 p.m., at Community United Methodist Church, 455 S. Jefferson St., Waterford. Burial will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, on Monday, March 24, at 1 p.m. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to Fisher House Wisconsin to help veteran’s families with living quarters while loved ones are in the Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee.
