COLETTA BREHM

Easter Lily Coletta Brehm, 90, Burlington, died March 18, 2014, at Pine Brook Pointe. She was born Jan. 17, 1924, near Powers Lake, to the late Clarence and Anna (Kretschmer) Holtzheimer. On Oct. 14, 1950, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, she married Bernard ‘Barney’ Brehm. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. He preceded her in death April 1, 1985. She was a food service worker at Burlington Hospital and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Survivors include her children, Joan Brehm, Bloomington, Ill., Edward (Brenda) Brehm, Lyons; grandchildren, Kara Brehm, (Garrett) Beier and Nicholas Brehm; brother, Raymond (Susan) Holtzheimer, Curtiss, Wis.; and sister, Martha (Anthony) Wilger, Alabama. She was further preceded in death by her son, Donald; sisters, Ruth Holtzheimer, Rose Zurek, Lorraine Uhen; and brothers, Andrew, John and Robert Holtzheimer. Visitation is Saturday, March 22, from 10-11:15 a.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 S. Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated March 22, at noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Volkert officiating. Burial will follow Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery.     I used to work with Coletta at the hospital. She was such a dear, sweet person. I went to grade school with her son, Donald. He used to carry my books up Randolph Street as far as the side street to his house. I was saddened when he died at a very young age.
