Clemons Ludwig ‘Clem’ Lutkus, 86, Waterford, died Feb. 1, 2014. He was born Aug. 26, 1927, to the late Anthony and Mary Lutkus in Racine. He was raised in Racine, graduating from Park High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947 and was a recipient of the Victory Medal and Army Occupation Medal of Germany.

In 1954, after his service, he married the love of his life, Carol Hoffman, in Sturtevant. He worked as a car salesman for Schaefer Pontiac, retiring after 40 years. In his early years he was a sailor, sailing a three-mast schooner around the Great Lakes. He loved boating, fishing, playing cribbage, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Jeffrey (Judith), Racine; Scott (Ann), Kansasville; Michelle (Steve) Seitz, Waterford; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Ralph) Ludwig, Racine; nieces; nephews; and close friends.

He was further preceded in death by his beloved wife; brother, Stan; and sister, Jeannette Saler.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Aurora VNA nurses and the Waterford Senior Living Memory Care Unit for their care and compassion during Clem’s journey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford. Visitation will be in church prior to Mass on Friday from 9-11 a.m. Burial is Monday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m., at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations be made to Waterford Senior Living Center’s Memory Care Unit. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.
