Antonio C. Avila, 85, Wind Lake, died May 6, 2014. He was born in Piedrag Negras Cuah, Mexico, and moved to Wisconsin in 1956.
He married Guadalupe Guardiola and was a foundry worker and worked at Wind Lake Sod farms.
Survivors include his children, Mary Jane Simonsen, Marcos, Luis (Diane), Juan Miguel, Guadalupe (Rolando) Gamez, Juan Antonio, Esteban (Sherry), Reymundo, Isabel (Fred) Bublitz and Leticia (Greg) Withrow; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Manuel, Francisco, Agapito, Guadalupe, Ma de Jesus, Ma Teresa and Ma Consepcion; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: granddaughter, Anna Maria Gamez; siblings, Miguel, Juan and Dolores.
Visitation is Monday, May 12, from 6-8 p.m., at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 W. Main St., Waterford. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 13, at 11 a.m., at St. Clare Catholic Church, 7616 Fritz St., Wind Lake. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery in Greenfield. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Clare Church.
