WESLEY D. ADRIANSON

Wesley ‘Wes’ David Adrianson, 91, Racine, died July 12, 2013, at Wisconsin Veterans Home, Union Grove. He was born in Racine, April 20, 1922, to the late Alfred and Theresa (Birchmeyer) Adrianson.

He graduated from Washington Park High School in 1939.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theatre of War.

On June 3, 1953, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, he married Beatrice M. Chadek. He owned and operated Universal Vibrating Screen Co., a manufacturing company that was started by his father that made screening machines for the food, sand and gravel industries.

He was a music enthusiast and played jazz guitar for over 70 years. For many years he fronted his own band and in the later years he had played rhythm guitar with the John Bunic Big Band. He had also been active with the Kiwanis Club and in politics. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years; children, Stephen (Jane) Adrianson, Los Angeles, Theresa Adrianson, Racine, Julie (Patrick Neary) Adrianson-Neary, San Geronimo, Calif., Mary (Dale Rice) Adrianson-Rice, Burlington; grandchildren, Maxwell Rice, Sam Rice, Kate Rice, Wesley Adrianson the younger and Douglas Adrianson; nieces; nephews; other relatives and dear friends.

He was further preceded in death by his brother, Donald, and sister, Audrey Evensen.

Visitation is Friday, July 19, at 12:30 p.m., until time of service at 1:30 p.m., at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St., Racine. Interment with full military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to your local school’s music program have been suggested.
