RUBY H. ALSWAGER

Ruby H. Alswager, 91, Union Grove, died Jan. 8, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints, Racine. She was born Sept. 6, 1921, in Racine, to the late William and Nancy (Schreiber) Osenga. She was a lifetime resident of Union Grove and a graduate of Union Grove High School and Mooris Business College, Racine.

On Sept. 2, 1950, at Union Grove Congregational Church, she married Russell Alswager. He preceded her in death in 1981.

She was employed at Southern Wisconsin Center as an office manager for 35 years, retiring on Oct. 1, 1986. She had previously worked for 12 years at Raymond Myer and Co-CPAS in Racine. She was a member of Union Grove Congregational Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Business and Professional Woman of Union Grove Area as well as the Women’s Organization of Union Grove Congregational Church. She taught Sunday school and had played Mrs. Santa Claus for more 30 years, the last in 2012.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Mary (Tim) Coutley, Joan (Bob) Eckrich, Bill Osenga, Ann (Phil) Santos, Brian ‘Bud’ (Monica) Pearson, Joan (Deane) Galloway and Gary (Barbara) Krutz; other relatives and many friends.

She was further preceded in death by a brother, Lester W. Osenga.

Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 12, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 3 p.m., at Union Grove Congregational Church. The Rev. Manda Stack will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Grove Memorial Cemetery. Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Union Grove, is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Union Grove Congregational Church, Graham Public Library in Union Grove, or Union Grove American Legion are suggested by the family.
