ROBERT W. BUSCH

Robert W. ‘Bob’ Busch, 92, Burlington died peacefully July 20 2013, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 5, 1920, to the late William and Mary (Uhlenhake) Busch in Burlington. His early years were spent in New Munster where he attended St. Alphonsus Grade School.

On May 29, 1943, he married Rosemary Lois in New Munster. Following marriage they resided in Burlington. He worked as a truck driver and a farmer all his life. He was a member of St. Charles Parish, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed gardening, watching sports, especially the Brewers and the Green Bay Packers and playing cards mainly sheepshead and euchre. He was inducted into the Burlington Baseball Hall of Fame on July 14, 2013. More than anything, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years; children, Kenneth (Maureen) Busch, Muskego, Dennis ‘Shrub’ (Alice) Busch, Burlington, Colleen (Thomas) Zickert, Franklin, Dean (Diane) Busch, Stuart, Fla., Doreen (Thomas) Wiemer, Burlington; grandchildren, Kelli, John and Jennifer Busch, Julie and Jeff Busch, Chris (Brannon) Guyette, Amy Zickert, William Busch and Bradley Wiemer; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Aubrey and Adam Guyette; sister-in law, Ruth Busch; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by siblings, Albert, Fritz, Bill, Edna, Dorothy and Armella.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 25, at 7 p.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve Amann officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family July 25, from 4-6:30 p.m., at St. Charles. A private burial will be held at a later date. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.

Bob’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the VNA Hospice staff for their care and compassion.

The family has suggested memorials for Bob be made to St. Charles Catholic Church, the Alzheimer’s Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
