MYRTLE M. BAUMAN

Myrtle M. Bauman, 91, Burlington, died Aug. 26, 2013, at her home.

She was born April 6, 1922, in Bonne Terre, Mo., to the late Ira Franklin and Fannie (Benton) Drennen.

She had been a resident of the Burlington area since 1954. On Jan. 17, 1942, she married Robert Lee Nofrey in St. Charles, Mo. On Aug. 23, 1975, she married Phillip A. Bauman who preceded her in death April 24, 1992.

She drove school bus for 34 years for Thomas Bus Co. She also worked at Burlington Hospital and at Heavy Duty in Lake Geneva. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, gardening, bowling in the Senior League and going for walks.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Burlington, and participated in O.W.L.S. and various Bible classes.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Nofrey, Steven (Sandy) Nofrey; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her husbands; daughter, Janice Growny, son, Robert Nofrey Jr.; brothers, Herbert, Austin, Roscoe, Emerson, Clifford and Robert; sisters, Edna Huxely, Gertrude Linengood, Edith Bigley and Roberta McKinney.

The family wanted to say a special thank you to the nurses from Aurora VNA Hospice for their amazing care and support of Myrtle and her family.

Memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church are suggested.

Services are Friday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kirk Lahmann officiating. Visitation is Thursday, Aug. 29, from 4-8 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, and on Friday, Aug. 30 at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow services in Burlington Cemetery.
