MARGARET C. RUDKOWSKY

Margaret Clara Rudkowsky, 83, Burlington, died Nov. 9 2013, at her residence. She was born on Oct. 16, 1930, in Krakow to the late John and Josephine Falkowski. She graduated from Marinette State Teachers College and then from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.

In 1969 she married the love of her life, John Rudkowsky in Union Grove. Their son, John Jr., was born in 1970, and in a tragic accident both her husband and son drowned in the Fox River on April 22, 1973.

She was an elementary teacher for many years. She taught in the Pulaski School system, Minneapolis School system and the Milwaukee School system.

She enjoyed teaching and helping her students to learn. She loved travelling to Europe and throughout the United States. She also loved her crafts and crocheting.

Survivors include her sisters, Lorretta (Peter) Kuznia, Minneapolis, Agnes (Gerald) Wautier, Wisconsin Rapids; nieces; nephews; and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her siblings, Mildred Meisekothen, Henry, Frank and Max Falkowski.

Margaret’s family would like to give special thanks to good friends Arlene, Shirley and Rhonda for their frequent visits and encouragement. They would also like to thank the VNA hospice nurses for their assistance with Margaret’s struggle with cancer.

Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 14, from 9-11 a.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church, 449 Conkey St., Burlington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial is in St. Charles Cemetery, Burlington, following Mass. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.
