LILLIAN J. STUBBS

Easter Lily

Lillian J. Stubbs, 77, Kenosha, died Dec. 2, 2013, at Aurora Medical Center, from secondary complications related to her recent diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

She was born in Baldwin, on Nov. 13, 1936, to the late John Walter and Frances (Colburn) Peabody.

She married Leo Schouten in October 1954 in Glenwood City. Tragically, he was killed in an automobile accident in February 1973. Lillian was blessed to find love again when she met Michael Stubbs. They were married in November 1973 in Sioux Falls, S.D. Many cherished memories were made on Nov. 9, when they celebrated their 40th anniversary with their entire family.

She dedicated much of her life to raising her five children. She was known to be a fabulous cook and baker.

Survivors include her husband; children, Lee (Sherrie), Larry, Lonnie (Debbie), Lesley (Linda) Schouten and LaRae (Steve) Dyer; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Chuck (Debbie) Peabody; and sisters, Donna Pohl and Evelyn Spielman.

Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, to remember and share memories of  Lillian’s life on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 2-5 p.m.
