LESTER M. DAHL

Easter Lily

Lester M. Dahl, 79, Burlington, died Nov. 6, 2013, at Aurora Memorial Hospital Burlington. He was born in La Crosse County on July 21, 1934, to the late Norman and Minnie (Johnson) Dahl. He spent his early life in La Crosse County. He served in the Marines in 1952 and 1953.

On Aug. 16, 1957, he married Darlene E. Stanhope in West Salem. In 1962 they came to Burlington where they raised their family.

He was retired from American Motors/Chrysler. He attended Faith Chapel and was a member of UAW Local 72. He loved tending his vegetable garden, playing softball, horseshoes, dartball for Cross Lutheran and watching the Packers and Brewers. He especially loved the time he spent with his family, and enjoyed dining with them at Culvers.

Survivors include his wife, children, Darla (Dennis) Kromm and Dennis Dahl, all Burlington; grandson, Don (Laurie) Burns; and great-grandchildren, Nathan and Brianna Burns; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his son, Norman Dahl; granddaughter, Shanna Burns; siblings, Raymond Dahl, Violet Sheets, Dolores Parmenter and Norma Weaverstad.

Services are Saturday, Nov. 16, at Faith Chapel at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Charles Huyett officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Nov. 16, from 1-3 p.m. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery at a later date. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.

Memorials are suggested to Love, Inc. or Faith Chapel in memory of Les.
