LAURA P. IBARRA-GENDRICH

Laura Patricia Ibarra-Gendrich, 51, Burlington, died Sept. 3, 2013, at Froedtert Hospital.

She was born Nov. 30, 1961, in El Paso, Texas, to Jose Luis and Blanca Estela (Munoz) Ibarra. She spent her early life in El Paso and moved to Burlington where she graduated from Burlington High School. She further attended Mount Mary and MSOE.

On June 15, 2002, at St. Charles Church, she married James Michael Gendrich.

She was a homemaker who kept herself busy with volunteer work, crafting and cooking. She volunteered time with both Love Inc., in Burlington and the Domestic Abuse Group in Waukesha, was a Spanish translator, notary public, did taxes for family and friends and helped her father with his towing business. She loved to cook for her family and shop, knit and make blankets for her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her husband, Burlington; her parents, Honey Lake; siblings, Monica (Andre) Wylie, Oak Creek, Janina (Kyle) Sauls, Tucson, Ariz., Luis Hector (Elizabeth) Ibarra, Kansasville, Jose (Roxanne) Ibarra, Cedar Park; sister-in-law, Lori (Al) Traber, Burlington; five nieces; six nephews; two grand-nephews; and her beloved dogs, Gomez, Sofia and Buddy.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Raul; father-in-law, James Gendrich; and mother-in-law, Catherine Knudsen.

Mass for Laura is Saturday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church. Visitation will be at the church from 9-10:45 a.m., on Saturday. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
