Joanne M. Goetz, 77, Kansasville, died Oct. 20, 2013, at her home. She was born Dec. 18, 1935, in Racine, to the late Lawrence and Gertrude (Menden) Zacher. Her early life was spent in Racine and she graduated from Union Grove Union High School.
On Aug. 30, 1958, she married Walter Goetz. They lived in Kansasville their entire marriage.
Her first job was at Porters of Racine. Following marriage she worked as a clerk for the Town of Dover. She had also been an agent for Mays Insurance. She was the Town of Dover’s treasurer, finance director for Priests of the Sacred Heart and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Dover. She was a member and trustee for St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dover. She loved to play cards and belonged to numerous card clubs.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years; her son, Raymond, Racine; daughter, Mary (Thomas) Vlasin, Waterford; daughter-in-law, Heather Goetz, Union Grove; grandchildren, Jenny, Lukas, Hannah, Chris, Kyle, Caleb, Gabby, Olivia; sister, Joyce Perry, Racine; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Lu) Goetz, Union Grove, and Bernard (Mae) Goetz, Kansasville.
She was further preceded in death by her son, Theodore ‘Teddy;’ nephews, Larry Wilear, Andrew Goetz; and niece, Lisa Butera.
Memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ladies VFW Auxiliary #7924, Kansasville Fire Department or the charity of your choice are suggested.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dover, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Robert Kacalo officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, Oct. 25, at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 S. Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, from 5-8 p.m., with an 8 p.m. prayer vigil.
