JAMES E. WOLF

Easter Lily

James E. Wolf, 75, Burlington, died Dec. 1, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Sheboygan, June 25, 1938, to the late Norbert and Jeanette (Billman) Wolf. He spent his early life in Sheboygan where he attended St. Nicholas School and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School. Following graduation he attended UW–Oshkosh where he earned his BS in chemistry.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman/radarman from July 1958 to May 1960 where he was on the USS Newport News.

On Aug. 8, 1964, at St. Peter Church in Oshkosh, he married Sharon Ann Grota. Following marriage they made their home in Oshkosh, Madison, and Cary, Ill., before moving to Burlington in 1973. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

He worked at different companies as a chemical engineer/analyst before starting with SC Johnson in 1972 where he retired from after 20 years. Following retirement he developed an interest in building and real estate. His hobbies included a passion for painting with acrylic and model railroading. He loved his family and enjoyed traveling. He took many trips with his children and grandchildren where lasting memories were created. He enjoyed several trips to Alaska and Hawaii as well as multiple cruises. He truly was a man of many talents.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Susan (Tony) Bigelow, Sussex, Mary (Bradley) Holman, Anchorage, Alaska; granddaughters, Allyson Bigelow and Claire Bigelow, both Sussex; and sister, Kathleen (Norm) Buskirk, Denver, Colo.

The family would like to thank Dr. Schmidt, Dr. Haider, the nurses at the Cancer Center, along with Aurora VNA Hospice, for their care and compassion.

Mass for James is Saturday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Steve Amann will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until time of Mass. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
