EDMUND SLAK

 

Edmund ‘Ed’ Slak, 82, Waterford, died March 21, 2013. He was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 28, 1930, to the late Edmund and Margaret (Skotzke) Slak. He was a high school graduate in Milwaukee and went on to apprenticeship at Boys Tech.

On June 19, 1954, he married Gloria A. LeRoy. That same year they moved to Waterford and he was a proud owner of Waterford Aluminum Company most of his life. He enjoyed life. He liked hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved kids.

Survivors include his children, Melanie Slak, Waterford, Darryl (Connie) Slak, Rochester, Jody (Barbara) Slak, Jackson, and Tamlyn (Timothy) Plohocky, Waterford; grandchildren, Jodi, Courtney, Lindsey, Martin (Sarah) Plohocky, Dale, Andrea and Amber Plohocky and Geneva Slak; brothers and sisters. Terri Seib, Mary Slak, Robert (Karen) Slak; Daniel Slak; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his wife.

Visitation is Monday, March 25, from 4-5:45 p.m., with Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials to the Parkinson’s Foundation would be appreciated.
