Donna M. (Huelskamp) Gasser, 79, Waterford, died Sept. 14, 2013. She was born in New Ulm, Minn., on Nov. 14, 1933, to the late Ralph and Marie (Stelzer) Huelskamp. Her family moved to Waterford where she attended St. Thomas Graded School and graduated from Waterford High School. She also attended one year of Airline Stewardess schooling.
On Dec. 1, 1962, she married Walter H. ‘Hal’ Gasser. He preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 2013.
She was a well-known cake decorator and also drove a school bus for the Graf Bus Co. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and helped with fish fries. She was a member of the Waterford American Legion Post 20 Auxiliary where she was the current Chaplain. In her free time she loved to craft, paint and crochet.
Survivors include her siblings, Dolores (Jay) Scheele, Joe Huelskamp, Richard (MaryLou) Huelskamp, Glen (Barb) Huelskamp, Judi (Rick) Haydu, Joan (Doug) Anderson, Ruth (Pat) Kretschmer; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph and Anton.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19, 11 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford. A memorial visitation prior to Mass in church is Thursday from 9-11 a.m. Inurnment is in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery following Mass. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society. Mealy Funeral Home, Inc., Waterford, is serving the family.
