DENNIS E. HICKETHIER

Easter Lily

Dennis E. Hickethier, 74, Burlington, died Sept. 15, 2013, at Walnut Grove in Lake Geneva.

He was born Feb. 16, 1939, to the late Earl and Maureen (Luce) Hickethier in Baraboo, and grew up in the Wisconsin Dells area.

He was retired from Lynch Chevrolet, Burlington, where he worked for many years in the parts department. He was an avid reader and had a unique talent to draw upon his copious vocabulary to articulately express himself. He enjoyed listening to jazz music, doing crossword puzzles, and watching the Packers. He will be remembered for his hearty laugh, his easy smile, and his ability to genuinely listen to people and engage in deep analytical discussions.

Survivors include his children, Ruth (Mark) Schenning, Burlington, David (Mary) Hickethier, Plover, Sara Hickethier, Burlington, John (Kim) Hickethier, Milwaukee, Jeff Hickethier, Fontana; grandchildren, Ethan and Nolan Schenning, Emma and  Jacob Hickethier, Owen and Hannah Hickethier; siblings, Andrea (Terry) Milfred, Rio, Judy (Jim) Roos, St. Louis, Mo., Mary Wright, Louisville, Ky., Peter (Kathy McCarthy) Hickethier, Adams, and Pam Fischer, Columbus, Ga.

At his request, private family services were held. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, served the family.
