DAVID E. PARKINSON JR.

David E. Parkinson Jr., 43, Lyons, died Nov 27, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Flint, Mich., on June 23, 1970, to David E. Parkinson, Sr. and Gloria J. (Ogger) Willhelm. He spent his early life in Michigan where he attended school and graduated from Wayne Memorial High School.

In his six years of active duty in the U.S. Army, he spent the majority of his time in Berlin, Germany, along with serving in Operation Desert Storm during the Persian Gulf War.

On Aug. 2, 1991, in Caro, Mich., he married Jacqueline Louise Pastor. Following marriage they made their home in Berlin Germany, Tennessee, Michigan and Wisconsin.

He was a Union Business Representative for Operating Engineers Local #139. He was a life member of the VFW and DAV and a member of the Masonic Lodge. His hobbies were hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; children, Gage and Kirsten Parkinson; parents, Gloria (Ken) Willhelm, Fenton, Mich., and David (Bev) Parkinson, Chatham, Mich.; his mother- and father-in-law, Alicia (Don) Majask, Caro, Mich., and Dennis (Anita) Pastor, North Branch, Mich.; siblings, Kathy Gonzales, Tamie Willhelm, Wayne Willhelm, Angela Parkinson, Cindy Dougherty; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Letson, Dee Pastor, Sue Summersett, Patty O’Dell; and numerous military brothers, “The Wild Bunch.”

Services are Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Visitation is at the funeral home from 3-6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Mich., on Dec. 13, at 2:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
