DONALD R. BREVER

Donald R. Brever 84, Burlington, died Jan. 10, 2013, at his residence. He was born March 23, 1928, to the late Henry and Anna (Lenz) Brever in Burlington, where he was a lifetime resident.

On Oct. 29, 1949, he married the late Edith Benson. They lived and raised their family on Brever Road. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, serving as an usher for many years. He belonged to the Township Fire Department, and was active in the Burlington Conservation Club and the Open Door Lodge. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed riding his Harley, gardening, fishing, playing cards and hanging out at the “Club.” He treasured his family farm and time visiting with his friends.

Survivors include his children, Philip (Patti) Brever, Bernard (Tamara) Brever, Leon (Noreen) Brever, Joan (David) Soeth; grandchildren, Zachary (Noel) Brever, Tia (Jesse) Koehler, Anna (Chad) Lemerond, Jared (Julie Lois) Brever, Joshua (Liz Dieckmann) Brever, Jacob (Patty) Brever, Lynn (Jon) Nichols, Jessica (Derrick) Knebel, Max Soeth; great-grandchildren, Emily, Lizzie, Brittany, Kayla, Natalie, Macey, Claire, Luke, Sofie, Emma, Grace, Ally, Langston, Peyton, Alayna, Colby, Charles; sister-in-law, Marge Brever.

He was further preceded in death by nine siblings.

Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 626 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Jim Volkert will officiate.

Don’s family has suggested memorials be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
