PHILIP C. POCKAT


Surrounded by his family, Philip C. Pockat, 72, died Friday, June 15, 2012, after sustaining injuries from a fall. He was born Nov. 1, 1939, in Marion, Wis., to the late Louis Pockat and Mildred (Schultz). He was a long time educator, driver’s education instructor, member of various choirs and quartets, involved and committed to local and state politics, and an entrepreneur. He was known for his giving spirit and hearty laugh.

He loved to play bridge, talk politics, and was a friend to many.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Kay (Spradling); stepchildren, Jeff Droster, Milwaukee, Tim Droster, Middleton, Rebecca Droster, Kenosha, Rachel Clark, Oak Creek, Natasha (Alex) Faustova, Houston, Texas, Brad (Karen) Pockat, New Berlin, Beth (Dan) Thake Island Lake, Ill., Jenny (Dan) Kvistad, Janesville; grandchildren, David, Will and James Droster, Becky and Andi Clark, Nastia Faustova, Reece and Mason Pockat, and Jarrett Philip and Trevor Schuetz; nieces and nephews, Tiffany (Jason) Schroeder, Britt (Matt) Tappen, and Tyler (Sarah) Pockat.

He was further preceded in death by his stepfather, Raymond Boodry.

Visitation is Saturday, June 23, from 9:30 a.m. until time of memorial services at 11 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, 857 W. State St., Burlington. Cremation services were provided by Proko Funeral Home, Kenosha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Burlington High School Music Program or Aurora Visiting Nurses Association.
