LOUISE C. LOIS


Louise C. Lois, 101, of Rochester, died peacefully on Nov. 3, 2012, at Linden Grove of Mukwonago.

She was born in Waterford on Oct. 29, 1911, to the late Ben and Christina (Tempenny) Ketterhagen. She spent her early life in Waterford where she attended St. Thomas Graded School and graduated from Waterford High School.

She married Elmer A. Lois at St. Thomas Church. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1987. The couple had lived in Rochester all their married lives.  She worked for the Village of Rochester Post Office and the Village Clerk’s office, collecting yearly taxes. She was also a homemaker and worked seasonally at the Bock and Mohr Mink Ranch in Rochester. She enjoyed her family and loved to spend time in her garden.

Survivors include her son, Charles (Judy) Lois, Burlington; grandchildren, John C. Winski, Christina (Mark) Robertson, Lori (Edward) Mansur, Linda (Eric) Hufford, Lisa (Dennis) Reilly and Charles (Jill) Lois; great-grandchildren, Evan, Megan, Chelsy, Michael, Alex, Gary, Cindy, Austin and Maddie; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her daughter, Marian Winski; infant children, Janet and twin sons, Thomas and Terrence.

Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 8, from 10-10:45 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Nov. 8. Burial is in the church cemetery following Mass. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
