JOAN C. SPIEGELHOFF

Joan C. Spiegelhoff, 81, of Burlington died Oct. 21, 2012, at her home. She was born on Oct. 20, 1931, to the late Vincent and Hilda (Buchberger) Lois, in Burlington.

She was a lifetime resident of Burlington. She attended St. Charles Grade School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.

She married William Spiegelhoff on Sept. 29, 1956, at St. Charles Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member.

She was a wonderful wife and an excellent mother. Joan enjoyed tending to her flower gardens.

She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. At their sporting events, she was their biggest fan. Besides cheering on her grandchildren, Joan was an avid Brewer fan.

Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, William, her children, Susan (Jeff) Kojis, Kim (John) Kuchenbecker and Robert Spiegelhoff; grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Kuchenbecker and Taylor Kojis. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Ester Lois, Burlington, brother and sister in law, Monty (Betty) Spiegelhoff, Rhinelander, and Keith (Carol) Spiegelhoff and Lynn Sebo, both of Glendale, Ariz., and also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joan was further preceded in death by her brother, Richard Lois.

The family has suggested memorials for Joan be made to St. Charles School.

Joan’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Aurora Hospice staff – Kat, Vickie, Kathy, Shelly, Beth and Angie – for all their care and compassion throughout her illness.

A private inurnment service will take place at a later date.
