DORINE E. JENSEN


Dorine E. Jensen, 95, Burlington, died Aug. 2, 2012, at Pine Brook Pointe. She was born in Deer Creek, Minn., on Oct. 6, 1916, to the late Harry G. and Nita (Bluhm) Boehne. She spent her early life in Parkers Prairie, Minn., and was a graduate of Paynesville High School and Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn.

She had worked as an RN for Kahler Hospital in Rochester.

On June 29, 1939, in Cresco, Minn., she married Al Breske. Following marriage they resided in Rochester. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1986.

On Nov. 25, 1970, she married Ralph Jensen. He preceded her in death in November of 1980.

She was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Englewood, Fla., and a current member of the Burlington United Methodist Church. In 1953, she started a nursing home in Burlington that she ran for 19 years. She was a member of F.I.S.H. and a volunteer transporter for the elderly. She was also a member of the A.A.R.R. and Charis, and a widows group that did volunteer work for other widows. She was an active member of the church as well as the Lighthouse For the Blind and an alumni member of Kahler School.

Survivors include her children, Barbara (Joseph) Guzzetta, Rio Rancho, N.M., Judith Ann (Dennis) Lois, New Munster, Deborah (Daniel) Vos, Clover, S.C., Steven (Jo Anne) Breske, Burlington, and stepson, Ralph (Lu Ann) Jensen, Burlington; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Wesley) Ranta of Minn.; brothers, Dale (Maxine) Boehne, Buffalo, Minn., and Bill (Pat) Boehne, Bloomington, Minn.; sister-in-law, Lois Boehne, Colorado Springs, Colo.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her sister, Glenice Reider; brothers, Donovan (Shirley), Rolland (Idalene) and Norman Boehne.

Visitation is Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 9-10:45 a.m., with services at 11 a.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. The Rev. Ebenezer Insor will officiate. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery.

Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are suggested.
