CORNELIA A. SNYDER

Cornelia A. Snyder, 80, of Burlington, died Sept. 29, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 5, 1932, in Monongahela, Pa, to the late Hugh and Lillian (nee Barefoot) Beckley.

She spent her early life in Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Donora High School. She had been a resident of Burlington since 1959.

She retired from NEL Frequency (Northern Engineering Laboratories) where she worked as a supervisor.

She was an active member of Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ. She volunteered at the Literacy Center at Love Inc., helping people learn to read.

She enjoyed spending time with her family as well as gardening, playing bridge, reading, watching the Green Bay Packers, working on family genealogy and relaxing by her fish pond or on her porch swing.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Bob Snyder; their children, David, Jim, Tom, Karen Barnett and Mark (Sue); grandchildren, Michael Barnett, Amy, Becky, Matthew and Sarah Snyder; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Landon; sister, Doris Dantin; brother, Jim (Jan) Beckley; sister-in-law, June Carson; four nieces and and nephews; cousins, Jane (Gene) Hinton and Barbara (Ed) May; and her canine companion, Cleo.

She was further preceded in death by her cousin, Willard Long.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Oct. 8, at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, 124 W. Washington St., Burlington. The Rev. Bob Wang will officiate. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the church on Monday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials to the National Kidney Foundation are suggested.
