BARBARA C. GAYHART


Barbara C. Gayhart, 79, Burlington, died peacefully Nov. 14, 2012, at Aurora Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 28, 1933, to the late Harold and Dorothy (Peltier) Miller in Racine, where she spent her early life.

On July 13, 1962, she married Jeffrey L. Gayhart in Racine. Following marriage they lived in Racine, and then in 1977 they relocated to Burlington. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She loved her Lord, family and friends and enjoyed her summers vacationing up north in St. Germain. In her free time, she liked to keep busy quilting and sewing. She also enjoyed fishing and her visits to the casino. More than anything else, she treasured the time she spent with Jeff, her husband of 50 years.

Survivors include her husband; children, Steve (Wilma) Welch, Racine, Joan (Kevin) Smalley, Delavan, Ted Welch, Delavan, Ron (Robin) Gayhart, Delavan, Brian (Kara) Gayhart, Burlington, Tom Gayhart, Kenosha; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Sandra (Art) Hana, Waterford, and Vicki (Dick) Marcsis, Racine.

Visitation is Monday, Nov. 19, from 4-8 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday Nov. 20, at 12, at noon at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Steve Amann will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the doctors and nurses in the ICU, at Burlington Memorial Hospital, for their love, support and dedication, in the care of Barbara.
