AUGUST J. STORCK


August J. “Augie” Storck, 89, died Sept. 9, 2012, just three days after celebrating his 89 birthday.

He was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Racine, the son of immigrant parents, the late John Peter and Josephine (Clement) Storck. Early in his childhood, his family moved to Raymond Center, where he grew up attending Raymond Center Grade School. During his young adulthood, he farmed in the Raymond area and was employed by J.I. Case Co. in Racine.

He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, stamp collecting, some occasional hunting and memorable moments playing his squeeze box and harmonica.

On April 24, 1948, he married LaVerne V. Koerber at St. Mary’s Church, Dover. Afterward, he expanded his farming operation becoming an ardent lifelong dairy and crop farmer. He was a past member of St. Mary’s Dover men’s club, co-founding the long running St. Mary’s Pork Chop Dinner and Festival. He was a current member of Union Grove Knights of Columbus Council 4106.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years; sons, Donald (Cindy), Kansasville, James (Kathy), Union Grove, Kurt (Debbie), Waterford, Jack (Kori), Kansasville; daughter, Tracey Storck, Union Grove; grandchildren, Denise (Steve), Cassandra (Mike), Jesse (Angie), Ryne, Samantha, Savannah, Ashley; step-grandchildren, Erica and Greg; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Josephine (Matt), Catherine (Stan), Margaret and Agnes; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew, Joseph and an infant brother; sisters, Ann and Mary; sisters-in-law, Kay and Janette; and brother-in-law, Jim.

Visitation is Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 5 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m., at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, 908 11th Ave., Union Grove. The Rev. Robert Kacalo will officiate.

The family have suggested Memorials be made to St. Mary’s Church, Dover or Union Grove Knights of Columbus Council 4106.
