Legion flapjacks are back

Flipping, scrambling and frying is what American Legion Post 20 will be doing Sunday, Oct. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to noon, at Whitford Park. Pancakes are all-you-can-eat.

Commander Dennis Lindhorst will present the best pancakes and champion sausage maker. Tickets are $5 advance adults, ages 6-12 are $3, and $1 more at the door. Tickets are available at Associated Bank in Waterford, at the Inkspot in Waterford, or from any legion member.

The American Legion Auxiliary will have their bake sale at this event.

Bring worn or tattered flags and the Legion will dispose of them properly.

Proceeds benefit projects such as Memorial Day services at 10 local cemeteries, American Legion Baseball, Youth and Government days, helping Racine County veterans in Zablocki Veterans Hospital.

The Post also sends two boys and two girls to leadership training in their junior year of high school. The Post also provided two scholarships to Waterford High School seniors attending vocational school. They also sponsor a Cub Scout Pack and maintain the Veterans Memorial Park on Highway 20.
