YMCA hosting Community Day Aug. 11

Plans for the 58,000-square-foot Mukwonago YMCA include the McAdams Family Aquatic Center, named after generous donors.

For those interested in joining the new Mukwonago YMCA, Saturday’s Community Day event offers a prime opportunity to ask questions and meet the staff.

Attendees are invited to join the YMCA during the event, slated Aug. 11 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., in the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts, 723 N. Rochester St. in Mukwonago.

Two membership options will be available at the Community Day event: standard membership or charter membership. Checks and credit cards will be accepted.

Standard membership fees are as follows (household membership is described as people living at the same permanent residence): household, $81; single parent household, $70; senior citizen household, $73; adult (26 and older), $57; senior adult, (65 and older), $52; young adult (18-25), $39; teen (13 through high school), $24; youth (6 months to 12) $19.

Charter membership is offered at two levels – $500 and $250.

Monthly membership fees will begin in September for all membership types.

 

Unveiling fundraiser

A benefit dinner/unveiling fundraiser event is scheduled 6-9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25 at the YMCA, 245 E. Wolf Run in Mukwonago.

Enjoy live music, hors d’oeuvres, refreshments and progressive food stations while touring the facility in business casual attire.

The cost is $50 per person, $95 per couple; corporate sponsor packages are available. Call the Waukesha YMCA at (262) 542-2557 to purchase tickets.

Grand opening

The grand opening of the Mukwonago YMCA is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 4.

The 58,000-square-foot facility features a zero depth entry pool with water slide and therapeutic current, indoor lap pool, five locker rooms, 8,000-square-feet of personal fitness space, three group exercise studios, TRX, a large gymnasium, an indoor track, child watch, teen/senior area and a lounge.

Programs for all ages will be offered including land and water exercise classes – step, strength, pilates, yoga, Zumba, swim lessons, preschool programming, senior activities, SilverSneakers, youth sports, special interest and social clubs.
