Woman injured in stabbing in Town of Dover

A woman is recovering from knife wounds and the man suspected of injuring her has been arrested following an incident in the Town of Dover early Thursday morning.

According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was taken by rescue personnel to Wheaton Franciscan Racine for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.

Deputies responded to a residence on South Beaumont Avenue at 4:53 a.m. only to learn the suspect had left the scene in a vehicle, according to the sheriff’s press release. The victim was able to speak with officials at the time to assist in the investigation.

The suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the sheriff’s office, and could result in formal charges against the suspect.
