A 21-year-old Kansasville woman is charged with mayhem as an act of domestic abuse after allegedly biting off her sister’s left nipple during a fight around midnight July 28 at a Washington Avenue residence in Kansasville.
Wisconsin statutes define mayhem as the intentional infliction of great bodily harm, dismembering or disfiguring of another person, a charge usually filed when body parts have been permanently removed.
According to the criminal complaint filed July 29 in Racine County Circuit Court:
The sister of Serena Souder walked in on Souder and the sister’s husband having sex July 28, and a physical altercation ensued between the sisters.
The sister complained that during the fight she was bit, scratched and punched by Souder. A Sheriff’s Department deputy observed bloodstains in the chest area of the shirt she was wearing, bruising around both eyes and small cuts on her face.
She also complained that their mother grabbed her and held her down on the ground and hit her in her right eye. The mother has not been charged with a crime.
She also alleged that Souder bit her in the chest. A sheriff’s deputy who observed the injury reported that the nipple appeared to be completely detached from the body. The victim told the deputy that she had tried to glue her nipple back on.
Souder made an initial appearance in Racine County Court July 29, at which time probable cause was found that she had committed the crime with which she is charged, and a $2,000 cash bond set.
As a condition of that bond, Souder is to have no contact with the victim or any witnesses to the incident.
Souder is next scheduled in court Aug. 8 for an initial appearance, when a judge can determine if the case should proceed to trial.
