‘You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown’

High school play advances to sectionals

The Union Grove High School’s drama department’s production of “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown,” is advancing to sectionals.

The department competed in the Wisconsin High School Forensic Association One Act Theater Competition at Tremper High School on Oct. 20 and advanced to the sectionals, which will be held Nov. 3 at Catholic Memorial High School.

The play is a musical comedy based on the cartoon characters created by Charles M. Schulz in his comic strip Peanuts. The score was written by Clark Gesner. Additional dialogue is by Michael Mayer and additional music and lyrics are by Andrew Lippa.

The musical follows a day in the life of Charlie Brown and his friends.

Cast members include: Alyssa Bencs, Bailey Bennett, Carter Benson, Greta Black, Britni Burrows, Tristan Brown, Hannah Christensen, Erin Doherty, Emma Erickson, Caitlin Fanning, Karri Lackey and Dylan Sauder.

Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2-3 and Nov. 9-10, in the Union Grove High School Performance Center. There is a matinee performance Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. that is free for senior citizens and Union Grove grade school students accompanied by an adult.

Tickets are available at the door. The cost for students and adults is $5.
