Union Grove to leave Western Racine health services group

The Village of Union Grove has decided not to renew its contract for public health services with the Western Racine Health Department. The contract runs through Dec. 31.

That will result in a higher share of the costs for most of the other nine west end communities still planning to stay with Western Racine into 2013 and beyond for public health services such as immunizations.

For 2013, Union Grove will begin receiving community health services through the Central Racine County Health Department, which is based in Franksville. Central Racine currently serves the communities of Caledonia, Mt. Pleasant, Sturtevant and North Bay.
