Foodbank receives $10,000 donation

Union Grove Area Foodbank Director Arlene Van Ess shakes hands with Dave Moyer, Community State Bank vice president and agricultural loan officer. CSB recently donated $10,000 to the food bank.

Community State Bank has presented the Union Grove Area Foodbank with a $10,000 donation to help finance the purchase of the Foodbank’s new and permanent facility at 826 Main St., Unit C, Union Grove.

“It’s with great pleasure that Community State Bank is able to donate to this very deserving cause,” said Dave Moyer, CSB vice president and agricultural loan officer. “The Foodbank is an important part of Union Grove and the surrounding communities. It helps many families in need. As a community bank, helping our community develop, thrive, and grow is one of our goals. I’m glad that we were able to assist the Foodbank in reaching one of their goals of owning their own facility and expanding their footprint in the community.”

“Community State Bank has been a generous long-term supporter of the Union Grove Area Foodbank. We’re grateful for their contributions to our service organization, and their continued dedication to our community,” said Union Grove Area Foodbank Director Arlene Van Ess.

“The bank’s contribution combined with an additional generous donation helped us secure a mortgage to further our goal of purchasing a permanent facility,” Van Ess continued. “Our new building provides our organization with a stable base of operation, and makes it easier for people in need to access our program.”
