Charges filed for alleged homegrown marijuana

Members of the Racine County Metro Drug Unit busted an alleged homegrown marijuana operation July 24 when executing a search warrant with a street address of 21204 North Cape St., Union Grove, a residence located in the Town of Norway.

s charged as a repeat offender with felony manufacture/delivery of not more than 200 grams/ four plants of tetrahydrocannabinols, the active ingredient in marijuana.

He is also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Racine County Circuit Court:

Metro drug agents, with Touve at home, searched the residence and located four marijuana plants in the basement. Also located were drug paraphernalia including a digital scale, packaging materials, glass marijuana pips and older grow equipment.

Agents reported that Touve admitted the four plants were his.

Touve waived his right to a preliminary court hearing held Aug. 2, and a “not guilty plea” was entered for him at his arraignment that day.

He is next scheduled in court Sept. 28 for a pre-trial conference.

If convicted of both charges, Touve faces a maximum of $10,000 in fines; 7 years, 6 months in prison; or both.

  1. OMG…who really cares about 4 plants? They busted into the house and thats all they found! What a score for the police! Why dont they focus thier efforts onto the Heroin dealers in Waterford not some dude that was clearly growing them for himself.

  2. I can’t even form a coherent statement because I’m so angry that tax dollars and effort is being spent to apprehend this “criminal”. What about VIOLENT crime, or drugs that actually make people violent/sick/addicted. Ridiculous. Mr. Touve deserves a reward, not a punishment, for taking it upon himself to grow a small amount of an innocent substance. Show me statistics about alchohol abuse/trouble/accidents/violence/health problems and then compare it to marijuana use. In a state like Wisconsin, you might be wise to legalize something other than booze.
