A 24-year-old Burlington man found face down and not breathing in a Waterford residence allegedly had enough presence of mind to conceal a baggie of marijuana between his butt cheeks while in the ambulance ride to the hospital, and move that baggie to a more secure spot while in the emergency room.

According to the criminal complaint filed April 5 in Racine County Circuit Court: Racine County deputies responded March 8 to a residence in the Fox Mead Subdivision, Waterford, for a report of a male unconscious from a possible drug overdose.

Seth Kulick

They observed Seth Kulick lying face down in a hallway. His lips were blue, he was not breathing and he had a very weak pulse.

Rescue personnel administered on scene a drug that counteracts the effects of heroin, and in seconds Kulick began breathing and regained consciousness.

While being treated in the emergency room of Aurora Medical Hospital of Burlington, Kulick reportedly told staff that he had injected heroin mixed with other drugs.

He also asked to use the restroom. Shortly thereafter, a nurse noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from the restroom.

A deputy searched and inside a ceiling tile he located a green leafy substance that later tested positive as marijuana.

Kulick reportedly admitted that he placed the bag of marijuana between his butt cheeks while in the ambulance, explaining he later stashed the bag in the ceiling tile because he wasn’t sure it would flush down the restroom toilet.

Kulick is charged with several felonies, including second and subsequent offenses of possession of cocaine and of marijuana; and possession of narcotic drugs.

A not-guilty plea was entered during Kulick’s arraignment in court May 2. He is next scheduled in court June 21 for a pre-trial conference. Online records show him currently with a Rochester address.

• Also charged as a result of the investigation are Benjamin Dolphin, 24, currently of Rochester, and Nicole Holm, 25, currently at a Milwaukee drug treatment facility – both of whom were renting the unit in the Fox Mead Subdivision at the time of the March 8 incident.

Dolphin faces felony charges of possession of narcotic drugs, manufacture/delivery of heroin and second-degree recklessly endangering safety. He is also charged with misdemeanor possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple counts of bail jumping.

A not-guilty plea was entered during Dolphin’s arraignment in court April 3. A pre-trial conference is set for May 31.

Holm faces felony charges of possession of narcotic drugs, manufacture/delivery of heroin and cocaine, and second-degree recklessly endangering safety. She is also charged with misdemeanors of possession of cocaine and marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A not-guilty plea was entered during Holm’s arraignment in court April 3. A pre-trial conference is set for May 31.
